Perhaps the alter ego of an oil painter would have to be a watercolor painter. The differnet mediums are approached so differently. But to be able to paint both at Gregory`s level is a true wonder. These are some of the newest works available through Sievers Gallery. Each being a study, some used for an original oil painting. Greg often paints plein air, being outdoors trying to capture the light as he sees it while the shadows of the day grow longer. Later he will use his watercolor as a reference for much larger oil paintings which he creates either at his Idaho or Arizona studio and occasionally right inside Sievers Gallery!
Gregory Sievers has the idea of true diversity in an artist. Sculptures, watercolors and oil paintings are common works of his but whatever the medium he is truly a master. He refuses to be channeled into a typecast, inspiring artists around the world to persue their own dream.
